What are the problems faced by orphans in Uganda

  • Lack of access to education: Many orphans in Uganda are unable to attend school due to lack of funds or lack of access to schools.
  • Poor health care: Orphans often lack access to basic health care and medical attention.
  • Poverty: Orphans in Uganda are often living in extreme poverty and are unable to access basic necessities like food and shelter.
  • Lack of support: Orphans are often neglected by their families and communities and lack support.
  • Orphaned and abandoned children are vulnerable to cases of child abuse like forced manual labour, sex molestation and drug abuse.

These can have a serious impact on the lives of Uganda’s orphans. Without access to education and other basic necessities, these children are at risk of being exploited and falling into a cycle of poverty.
